When 3.5mm jack was starting to fail on restaurant laptop installed a USB to 3.5mm jack adaptor, saving the boss money repairing laptop

side Projects

I webmastered and postmastered www.javavault.org until 2007.

I own and host skdj.co.uk using apache HTTPD and Tomcat.

before building the COSHH Project for macaulay land Research institute in Aberdeen (Caution of Substances hazardeous to Health) which I didn't really understand its purpose I used my HTML Javascript and CSS knowledge to build a letter Writing template app. I'm currently working to recreated this app which can be found letters template as I haven't been able to find original code.

To Explain what would happen, page would load with positioned DIV ELEMENTS for letter Body from and to Addresses, recipient and from names.

onclick they would transform into either inputfield or textArea depending on whether data field was multiline or singleline.

once focus was lost element would transform back into DIV Elements

Back in 2008 I setup a NAS with software raids card using mdadm and 5*1TB HDDs. It ran proftpd a FTP server, and samba providing nfs, cifs and smb. If i was building a similar system today I would add active directory domain controller capabilities using samba4 and samba-tools as outlined here: https://www.tecmint.com/install-samba4-active-directory-ubuntu/
